1. Video Submissions Required for Auditions

In order to qualify for an audition, applicants MUST submit a performance video either by sending in a DVD to the CNE or by posting video on You Tube.

2. REVISED Grand Champion Categories

There will be Grand Champion Awards presented in two categories at the 2010 CNE:
       Junior Division (performers 6 to 12 years of age) and
       Youth Division (performers 13 to 21 years of age)

PLEASE NOTE:
       Adults 21 years and over are not eligible to compete in the CNE’s Rising Star
       Talent Competition in 2010.

3. Auditions will NOT take place in Shopping Malls in 2010

Please also note that Rising Star auditions will NOT be taking place in Greater Toronto Area (GTA) shopping malls this year.  Auditions will take place at Exhibition Place. Performance videos must be submitted on DVD or on You Tube to qualify for a live audition; not all video submissions will qualify for a live audition.

38th Annual Ambassador of the Fairs

Congratulations to Angela Curtis of the Ilderton Agricultural Society as the winner of the 38th annual Ambassador of the Fairs Competition. Over 70 young men and women aged 18 to 25, winners of local fairs across Ontario, competed in the final round of the three-day competition held in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Sunday, August 23. Finalists showcased their poise, self-confidence and knowledge of Canadian agriculture and, after much deliberation, the judges were proud to announce Angela as this year's winner.  

Sincere congratulations also go to the top seven finalists and congeniality winner who placed in this order:

First Runner-up: Jennara Field - Glencoe Agricultural Society
Second Runner-up: Kathryn Walton - Embro and Zorra Agricultural Society
Top Seven: Karla Kerrigan - Forest Agricultural Society
Top Seven: Madison Riddolls - Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society
Top Seven: Mackenzie Carruthers - Lucknow Agricultural Society
Top Seven: Taylor Gordon - New Liskeard Agricultural Society
Congeniality Award: Jacob Rowe - Wallacetown Agricultural Society

:Ambassador of the Fair

The Cat Show
August 28 & 29th - 10 am to 5 pm ----- Cafe Soleil, Direct Energy Centre

Let the sun shine in as our fine feline friends convene at the 2010 CNE on Saturday, August 28th and Sunday, August 29th for the 40th Annual Cat Show. From 10 am in the morning to 5 pm in the evening, more than 125 cats from across Ontario will be showcased in display and in competition.
