We hope to see you at next year’s CNE event!

Community Postcards

Community Postcards explored the meaning and evolving nature of community through the work of local artists, using photography as a lens to examine the connections, challenges, and transformations within Toronto’s diverse neighborhoods.

What is community?
Is it simply a unified body of individuals—people with shared interests living in the same area? Is it a group bound by a common characteristic or identity within a broader society? Or is it something deeper?

Our exhibitions give artists the opportunity to push the conversation forward on re-shaping and re-imagining public spaces and urban life. Artists are invited to share their creativity and perspectives without being confined by traditional frameworks or institutional expectations.

“Photography can be a catalyst for change in communities, and a form of communication that flows across language barriers.”
— Phil Sutherland, Curator of Community Postcards
