Cake Decorating Competition

The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in collaboration with local bakeries will host the 2025 CNE Cake Decorating Competition, scheduled for August 24 to 31, 2025 at the Enercare Centre on the Kitchen Stage!

This Year’s Theme: “Unexpected Pairings”

CNE Guests enjoyed a sweet showcase of creativity! From tiered masterpieces to whimsical fondant fun, talented local bakeries put their skills to the test in this year’s CNE Cake Decorating Competition, held from August 24 to August 30 to create their own cake masterpieces inspired by the theme “Unexpected Pairings.”  

Visitors were invited to watch the magic unfold live as talented bakers transformed ordinary cakes into frosted masterpieces. This sweet showdown was a treat for anyone who appreciates creativity, precision – and a LOT of icing.

On August 31 at 1:00pm, special guest Anna Olson returned for the finals to judge and present the awards. Guests could participate in the judging by casting their vote for the Public’s Choice Award!  

CNE Cake Party!

On August 31 following the Cake Decorating Awards guests joined us for the CNE Cake Party! All guests were invited to sample the cakes and celebrate the winners of the Cake Decorating Competition.
